An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Manager to join the team of our established plant hire supplier with a Depot based in Leeds, West Yorkshire

You’ll be responsible for managing all workshop activities and ensuring the overall effectiveness and continual development of the workshop and its staff. You will also help to maximise profitability of the business by minimising costs with the effective management of resources and assets.

Leading and motivating the team using best practice management techniques, you will provide training, guidance and support on a broad range of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs and general maintenance. You will also coordinate processes and new initiatives within the workshop and ensure that consistently high standards of equipment maintenance and repair are delivered by the workshop team.

Liaising with customers and suppliers as required, you will ensure that maximum customer service standards and business efficiencies are met. It will also be your responsibility to ensure compliance with current H&S legislation and Company specific health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

We require a highly organised and self-motivated Manager with a strong customer focus and the determination to ensure that their workshop runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. With formal qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ / HND / HNC or equivalent) in mechanical, electrical or hydraulic engineering, you will possess an in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and ideally possess IOSH (or equivalent) certification. With previous management experience in a similar environment, you will be able to demonstrate effective planning and prioritising skills combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
