Job Description: 

Our Leeds depot currently has a vacancy for an HGV Class 2 Driver to ensure timeous professional delivery/collection of plant to/from GAP Group customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Delivery/collection of plant to/from customers ensuring accurate completion of paperwork (obtaining authorised signatures/noting damages/fuel levels/correct plant numbers)
- Starting machines on site when requested
- Basic vehicle maintenance/ensuring roadworthiness and safety of vehicle (carry out daily vehicle checks in accordance with Group procedures)
- Checking plant against paperwork received from hire desk prior to delivery
- Safe loading of all plant and equipment onto GAP vehicles (strapping/chaining/roping)
- Tagging up damaged machines on return to depot and locate in correct area within depot yard/workshop.
- Ensuring Tachographs are kept up to date (where applicable)
- Keeping vehicle clean and tidy
- Assisting with general workshop duties as and when required
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Foreman or Depot Manager

Applicants should have a current, valid HGV2 licence with good local knowledge in and around Leeds. Applicants should also have worked in the Plant & Tool Hire industry or similar.
