Plant and Tool Hire Coordinator

£25-30k

 

 

Buckingham Plant Hire (BPH) is looking for an enthusiastic Plant and Tools Hire Coordinator to join our small and friendly team.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will be required to procure hired plant equipment for Buckingham Group Contracting (BGC) sites and for cross hiring to BPH customers, ensuring all live hire files on the Companies Computer System are accurate and up to date. You will also deal with the daily phone calls & e-mails from BGC and external customers regarding requests for small plant, tools, non mech, lifting, and rail equipment.

 

 

Duties Include

           

  • Maintaining close communication with the equipment suppliers regarding availability and selection of equipment.

 

  • Setting up/ Re-negotiating special agreements and discount structures with suppliers on behalf of BGC.

 

  • Discussing & rectifying accounts queries with both BGC accounts staff and with external suppliers on behalf of BGC.

 

  • Report theft, loss damage & breakdowns to suppliers, ensure that the issues are rectified & that costs are acceptable.

 

  • Cost control for sites through equipment knowledge – E.g. offering different equipment to cover site requirement with a lower hire value.

 

  • General filing & archiving

 

  • Any other general department requirements/improvements

 

 

Person Specification

 

 

  • Previous Hire Desk would be highly preferable

 

  • Able to work in a pressured environment during busy periods

 

  • Previous experience within Plant Hire would be preferable

 

  • previous experience of working within a Tool Hire Trade Counter environment would be preferable

 

  • Must have internal or external customer facing experience within sales or a service industry

 

  • Must be an excellent communicator, with strong persuasion skills

 

  • Strong business ethics and a focus on customer service

 

·         Must be able to work independently and as a team within a busy environment
